It’s zero degrees outside and there’s tiny piles of snow scattered randomly everywhere with more snow waiting to fall down. This is where I’m holed away while editing more beautiful weddings from the Margaret River summer so far. Funny how it’s the holiday season and I’m really enjoying the break as it allows me to focus and catch up on work without the distractions of back home. I’m just outside of Vienna in Austria and have been promised real snow this weekend so I’ve got my film camera with me along with rolls and rolls of black and white film, I’m in heaven! It’s been a tough few months personally with lots of changes happening around me and I’m going to make more of an effort to just stop sometimes and remind myself how beautiful life is… and take more pictures of pretty things.
So while I’m in catching up mode, I promise to put up some more blog posts from some very special weddings soon.
Happy holidays!

Ruth found Ben in Kalgoorlie a few years ago and I bet she hasn’t stopped smiling since. They are in the midst of planning their wedding at Watershed next year and came down to Margaret River for a getaway at Redgate Beach Escape and for an engagement session. Ben has modeled for Calvin Klein before so he was a pro infront of the camera – when he wasn’t too distracted by his gorgeous fiance.

The lovely couple, Alice and Karl, were married by celebrant Jenny Etherington amongst the peppy trees at their gorgeous property where Alice also works her magic with Blooming Beautiful. The rain would come and go and come back again while a ray of light kept peeking through to shine on them during the ceremony.

Juliana and Nathan from Singapore came to the region for a holiday, to play golf and get married! Nathan brought Juliana’s sari from India and he helped her to get ready before they said their vows at Basildene Manor over 15 years after they first became an item. Vintage Bloom coordinated the morning ceremony and the matching tulips while Natalie Venosi was their celebrant.

It’s coming up to winter escape time and I thought I’d better mention that I will be out of town (for a little bit of work and hopefully lots of play) from August 7 to September 30. I’ll be returning all email and phone enquiries when I get back, but if you have an urgent enquiry please sms me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
I’m also no longer taking any wedding bookings for next summer 09/10 but still have some availability for 10/11. For help with your wedding planning head to www.mrbg.com.au which is a handy directory for wedding vendors and services in the region.
I’ll still be working while I’m away so will update the blog with some European wedding images and hopefully lots of fun travel stuff too. And for all you Singaporeans I do have room for another Paris bridal shoot around Sept 14-17th so please do contact me soon if you’re interested.

Favourite things: staying near the beach at Halcyon Bay, coming across from Katherine to get married, celtic wedding rings, wearing boots under a wedding dress, hair by Lorna Marie, ceremony and reception at Laurance Wines, photographing in the dark, the chandeliers at Laurance and vintage cars from FJ Holden.
